The Senate Local Government and Taxation Committee voted unanimously to adopt its committee rules and to print RS 31976, the record stating the committee reviewed and approved the tax committee rules. The action was taken during the committee’s meeting; the RS will be printed and sent to the full Senate.
The motion to adopt the rules was made by Senator Growe and seconded by Senator Taylor. Senator Growe said, “I move that we adopt these rules and go forward as adopted.” Chair said the motion carried unanimously. After that, Senator Growe moved that the RS be printed; Senator Taylor seconded that motion and the committee again approved it by voice vote.
Committee members described the rules package as “pretty slim this year,” and there was no further discussion before the voice votes. Committee staff noted that once printed, the RS will be forwarded to the Senate floor for consideration.
The committee adjourned after completing this and other routine business; its next meeting was announced for Tuesday.
