Quinn also requested early hires tied to the applied technology center (to cover extra classes and industry-certification sequencing) and an early posting for Lake Wylie High School principal, bookkeeper and athletic director. On transportation, Quinn said the district remains on a three‑year initiative to recruit bus drivers and requested seven bus drivers now so the state can provide buses and drivers can be trained and licensed earlier.
Quinn summarized the early request totals as “9 and a half teachers, 4 administrators and 8 classified staff” (the 8 classified staff equates to 4 FTEs under district accounting), and asked the board for a verbal OK to post and recruit ahead of the formal May budget cycle. Board members did not object at the meeting.
No formal vote was recorded; Quinn said formal budget requests will return at the May budget meeting. The superintendent and staff said early posting improves the district’s chance to hire qualified candidates for hard‑to‑fill roles.
