Corey (county staff) told the board the sale covered about 603 acres and produced roughly $711 per acre. He emphasized timber revenue contributes to county funds and noted timber regrows and can be harvested again under sustainable management.
Commissioners said the results were encouraging and confirmed additional timber auctions are scheduled this spring; staff said the next auction is in early April and that three more auctions will follow to complete the season.
Board members asked staff to continue to manage regeneration and harvest planning to protect future yields. The board approved acknowledgement of the sale results; the vote carried on voice vote.
