Hubbard County planning panel elects 2025 officers, approves minutes and outlines February agenda

At the Jan. 27 meeting, the Hubbard County Planning Commission Board of Adjustment elected its 2025 officers, approved meeting minutes from Dec. 16, 2024 for both the planning commission and the board of adjustment, and heard staff communications about February’s agenda.

Following the chair‑nomination process, members selected Mike as chair, Veronica as vice chair and Larry as secretary. Nominations and seconds were recorded on the record; all votes for the officer slate were unanimous among the members present.

The planning commission approved its Dec. 16, 2024 minutes on a motion by Veronica, seconded by Ken; the vote was unanimous. The board of adjustment minutes from the same date were approved on a motion by Ken, seconded by Larry; that vote was also unanimous.

In miscellaneous communications, planning staff said February’s agenda would include a conditional‑use permit and a variance application. Staff also reported that a previously paused conditional‑use and variance application for a proposed restaurant on Beltane — which had been on indefinite extension — will return to the agenda for action, noting the applicants have not supplied requested information and did not respond to a recent letter. Staff said the step is intended to “clear the book” if the applicants fail to provide the materials.

The board adjourned by unanimous voice vote after the business was completed.
