Cook County PHHS board unanimously elects Mills chair, Sullivan vice chair; approves consent agenda

The Cook County Public Health and Human Services Board on Jan. 21 unanimously elected Commissioner Sherry Mills to serve as chair and Commissioner Sullivan to serve as vice chair, then approved the meeting consent agenda.
The elections came at the start of the board’s scheduled meeting. Commissioner Mills said she was “willing to serve again as chair,” and Commissioner Sullivan said, “I’d be happy to serve as vice chair.” Commissioners voted aloud; the clerk recorded the elections as unanimous.
The board then moved to the consent agenda, which the board chair described as including the meeting agenda, minutes from December, the financial report, the year-end donations report (not attached to the packet and to be returned to the board in February), and the resignation of the adult and home-and-community-based services supervisor. Commissioner White moved approval of the consent agenda and Commissioner Sullivan voiced support; the motion passed unanimously.
Board members briefly interrupted the agenda to address an audio issue on the public live stream; staff later confirmed the stream audio was restored.
The board’s new officers will lead meetings as the department implements staffing changes and program work described later in the director’s year‑end report.
