HRA authorizes Redpath & Company LLC to audit 2024 financials for up to $17,500

The Cook County Housing and Redevelopment Authority on Jan. 15 approved an engagement with Redpath and Company LLC to perform the HRA's 2024 audit for a cost not to exceed $17,500.
Jason Hale, HRA staff, told commissioners the firm has performed previous audits for the authority and county and submitted a standard engagement letter. Hale said the 2024 audit will be "slightly more complicated" because the HRA transitioned to its own accounting system, but the fee is about $3,000 lower than last year because the auditor's initial startup/setup fee has already been paid.
The board adopted Resolution 25-1 by voice vote, authorizing the HRA director to sign the engagement letter so Redpath can begin requesting documents and start fieldwork.
The engagement is structured as a standard audit contract; staff will return with schedule information and deliverables as Redpath requests documentation.
