District outlines bond projects, seeks technology consultant and schedules bids for spring

Staff said the district received five responses to a technology designer/consultant RFP; the selection team narrowed that pool to three finalists and scheduled interviews. Staff said they will use a rubric and point system and hoped to bring a recommendation to the board on Jan. 27.
On construction schedules and bids, staff reported:
- Flooring work is on schedule; bids will be posted Friday and the work will proceed with final administrative details pending. - Athletic baseball and softball field bids are targeted to be posted Feb. 17; staff are finalizing layouts and designs with administrators. - Tennis-court painting and surveys are in progress; the district described ongoing site evaluations and a phased approach prioritizing life-safety items and trip hazards. - Pool filtration and HVAC for a district pool are being prioritized as a high-need item with a target bid date of Jan. 31. - Roofing bids for Grand High School North were due next week, staff said, and those projects are among the most critical slated for summer work.
Facilities staff said the district is focusing first on “phase 1” work to address critical life-safety items, with parking lots and less-critical items to follow in later phases.
Board member Telles asked the administration to adhere to the voter-approved bond project sequencing unless there is a documented reason to change series timing. Board member Sellers noted staff had asked the board to allow some scheduling adjustments by phase and said staff should explain any proposed reordering with clear justification to voters and the board.

Staff said procurement interviews for the technology consultant were scheduled, multiple construction bids were being finalized for posting, and a more formalized bond presentation will be provided at the board’s next meeting.
