Greene County commissioners approve routine minutes, grants and certifications

The Greene County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 23 approved a package of routine items including meeting minutes, vouchers, travel and training requests, a grant application for the Ohio Pet Plate program, a $1,200 allocation for juvenile‑court employee events and the county’s annual highway mileage certification.

The board voted to approve the minutes as submitted and to accept the work‑session minutes. Commissioners approved vouchers and routine transfers, and they authorized staff to apply for the 2025 Ohio Pet Plate grant program, which staff said typically yields about $25,100 a year for spay and neuter services and requires no local match.

Juvenile Court requested and won approval for up to $1,200 to cover employee appreciation events, training events and visitor lunches in 2025; the board approved the allocation. The commissioners also approved another amendment correcting an earlier submission to the state fiscal year 2024 subsidy grant (carryover) after staff said earlier filings contained allocation errors.

Board members certified the county highway system mileage at 323.668 miles, the figure the county reported had not changed from the previous year. Other routine approvals included a single transfer for the law library to pay a copier lease and travel/training approvals (including one trip to the American Planning Association conference in Denver).

Each consent item drew minimal discussion and passed by voice or roll‑call approval. No formal opposition was recorded in the meeting transcript.
