Greater Palm Bay Chamber reports membership growth, event traffic in semiannual update

Nancy Peltonin, executive director of the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, presented the chamber’s semiannual update to the City Council Thursday, highlighting membership growth, event metrics and partnership activities.
Peltonin said the chamber is a member-driven 501(c)(6) organization and reported membership of about 582 businesses, a 12 percent increase over the prior year; the chamber’s budget rose from about $283,000 in 2021 to $593,000 in 2024, Peltonin said. She noted more than 160 chamber events in the prior year, nearly 49,000 website views and particular traffic for the Space Coast Symposium. Peltonin said the chamber helps amplify partner events and provides marketing channels for local nonprofits and businesses.
Peltonin outlined upcoming events including tech- and AI-focused workshops and the Space Coast Symposium, and said the chamber will operate a booth at SpaceCom in Orlando to attract regional business interest. Council members thanked the chamber for promoting Palm Bay and discussed potential future coordination around the bayfront and city economic development initiatives.
Peltonin said the chamber is strategizing long-term facility needs and using partner sites for meetings as membership outgrows physical space; she asked council to consider the chamber in future bayfront planning. The council expressed appreciation and encouraged continued collaboration.
