Palm Bay council adopts midyear budget amendments, recognizing new grants and carryovers

The Palm Bay City Council adopted an ordinance Thursday updating the city’s fiscal 2025 budget to recognize several grant awards, correct account coding and reinstate prior-year appropriations that rolled into the new fiscal year.
Assistant Finance Director Angelica Collins told the council the amendments are routine budget housekeeping and the council-approved carryovers include grant awards and capital projects not completed in FY2024. The ordinance consolidates the changes into the FY2025 budget as required by the city’s fiscal code and confirms allocations for items council has previously approved.
Councilmembers did not request changes and the ordinance passed on the council vote. City staff said project-level reporting and any new capital expenditures arising from the budget adjustments will be tracked and reported in future financial updates to the council.
