Fortuna engineer says Caltrans-funded Gateway Project sign installation substantially complete

Bridal Byrd, Fortuna’s public works director and city engineer, told the Planning Commission Jan. 28 that the Gateway Project sign, funded through California’s Clean California program in partnership with Caltrans, was substantially completed and installed the previous day.
Byrd said the city appreciated the commission’s early input on the design and that only a few final items remain before the project is fully closed out. Her remarks were given during the meeting’s public-comment period and no formal action was taken.
