Mansfield superintendent search advances: 22 applicants; finalist interviews planned for mid-February

Diane (search committee coordinator) and search committee members told the full committee Jan. 14 that 22 applications had been received as of the previous Friday. The advisory committee planned initial screening interviews the week of Jan. 21–23 (with a possible Jan. 27 session if needed) and expected to name finalists about Jan. 29.
Those finalists would be scheduled for on‑site visits and public forums during the week of Feb. 10; administrators said typical finalist days include meetings with central-office staff, building-level leadership, student and staff groups, and a community forum in the evening. Members emphasized that initial candidate screenings are in executive session and that finalist names and full public schedules would be shared after the advisory committee recommends finalists.
Search committee member Lynn (speaking for the advisory group) clarified logistics: the district is preparing to host stakeholder meetings, to collect feedback from groups that meet the finalists during the day, and to post the open-session finalist interview schedule for public notice. Committee leaders also said they will share the screening questions that the advisory committee finalizes so school committee members and the public can see the evaluation criteria.
