Yakima County commissioners voted Feb. 3 to send a letter of support for the City of Zillah’s proposed public market near Vintage Valley Parkway. The measure authorizes staff to finalize and sign the letter on behalf of the board.
Commissioner Linde said the concept would create a venue to showcase local agricultural products such as wine, fruit, cheese and other regionally produced goods, and noted the site’s freeway access. Commissioner Curtis seconded the motion. The board approved the letter by voice vote; Commissioner McKinney was excused.
Commissioners discussed minor administrative edits to the draft and confirmed staff would update the header to reflect the appropriate district before final signature.
