Panettone said the DR site and verified monitoring platform are high priority because they directly affect county resilience. He described progress on multifactor authentication for staff, a countywide panic-button system rollout, migration of county cell phones to FirstNet, and life-cycling of devices on a five‑year cadence. He also noted near-term staffing moves: two entry-level help‑desk roles will be posted to reduce the burden on higher-level workstation-support staff.
Commissioners praised the Technology Services team’s progress and encouraged an AI-use policy that is coordinated with corporate counsel. Panettone said firewall replacement funding is in Technology Services reserves and that he will evaluate two candidate products for procurement.
