Council approves contract amendment for staff member after executive session
Summary

The Tahlequah City Council convened executive session Feb. 3 under Oklahoma statute 25 O.S. § 307 to discuss personnel matters and returned to public session early in the meeting with a motion to approve a contract amendment as discussed in executive session.
The presiding officer identified the executive session as covering the evaluation and employment terms of Tammy Hill. Following the closed deliberation, the council made a public motion and second recommending approval of the contract amendment. On roll call, Councilor Allen, Councilor Berry and Councilor Myers were recorded as voting in the affirmative and the motion carried.
City staff did not disclose contract terms in open session. The meeting minutes state the council relied on the legally authorized executive session to consider the personnel matter and then approved the related contract amendment by public vote.
