Council approves hosting 2025 Camp Pierce at regional fire training center

The Tahlequah City Council voted Feb. 3 to approve hosting the 2025 Camp Pierce event at the Bob Adrian Regional Fire Training Center in October.
Chief Casey Becker introduced the request and firefighter Angie Rissoff, who helped run the 2024 camp, told the council the program brought roughly 30 campers and more than 20 instructors to Tahlequah the prior year and was well received by the community. Rissoff said the camp is open to females 16 and older and provides hands‑on exposure to firefighting tasks, EMS, police and multi‑agency scenarios.
Councilor Myers moved approval and the motion passed on a roll call with recorded affirmative votes from Mayor Suzanne Myers, Councilor Allen and Councilor Perry.
