Worthington said he supported oyster restoration work but expressed a preference that federal tribal funding (Bureau of Indian Affairs) cover a $2,700 expenditure he described, arguing that tribal funding obligations should be used for certain restoration costs.
He also raised concerns about committee deliberations occurring in venues where the public could not observe them and said he would continue to monitor the committee’s interactions with agencies such as NOAA. Worthington asked for written responses to his emails and said he would follow the process going forward.
The committee acknowledged the public comment; no formal motion or vote resulted from the comment during the meeting.
