The board returned to open session and moved to approve the specific DNR purchase that had been discussed in the closed session. Commissioner Randy Johnson moved the motion and County Commissioner Mark Ozias seconded; the motion was approved by voice vote.
The action also included a separate motion authorizing the board chair to sign the form the DNR will provide to complete the transaction. County staff said the DNR will send a form for signature and that the accounting commissioner will sign the form when it is received. Commissioner Mark Ozias told the room, “I just really, really want to note for the public that I would anticipate that once this transaction is complete, we’ll be able to share more information with the public so that they understand what we’re talking about,” indicating the county will release further details after the sale is final.
