Columbia County commissioners approve copier lease, set 2029 salary, adopt health-insurance limits and award vehicle bid

Commissioners said the policy takes effect immediately for future hires; existing enrollments that already took effect will not be left without coverage for the current year. Finally, the board authorized the county engineer to award the bid for a Toyota Tacoma for the Building Department to the lowest responsible bidder. Bids announced during the meeting included Rogers Motors (Lewiston) at $44,028.23 (total with tax/registration/title), another dealer at $45,209.31, and Tri-Cities Toyota at $46,801.33. The board’s motion instructed the county engineer to award to the lowest qualified bidder; the board approved the authorization by voice vote.
