Resident Ron Soto described drivers and contracted haulers unable to access containers because of piled debris and said the overflow invites vermin. "One of you city commissioners needs to step up, put this on the agenda, and address this," he said. He criticized plans to beautify Main Street while back alleys remain unsanitary.
Commissioners acknowledged the problem. After public comment, staff said code compliance would revisit the site and follow up with affected businesses and their waste haulers to enforce existing rules. Vice Mayor Trice later said staff had already been notified and would escalate enforcement visits.
The commission did not take a formal vote on the matter; commissioners asked staff to handle enforcement and outreach to businesses.
