Hardin County Commissioners on Feb. 3 approved three items during a special meeting: payment for law-enforcement badges, payment for courtroom renovations and a procedure to post and accept applications to fill the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6 vacancy.
The court approved payment to Central Police Supply Incorporated, invoice 620-431, for $3,248.52 to purchase badges for the jail and sheriff’s office. The motion to approve was made by Commissioner Cook and seconded by Commissioner Kirkendall; the motion passed with commissioners voting in favor.
The court also approved payment to FNT Construction Services, invoice 011625-1, for $78,841 to fund renovations to the county courtroom, to be paid from the capital improvements account (422-525-554). Commissioner Kirkendall moved the payment and Commissioner Cook seconded; commissioners voted in favor and the motion passed.
Separately, the court voted to adopt a timetable and posting procedure for filling the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6 vacancy after Judge Horner’s retirement; Commissioner Young moved, Commissioner Kuykendahl seconded, and the motion passed.
Votes recorded in the meeting were voiced as "Aye" for approval on each motion; no recorded opposing votes were announced on the floor. The court adjourned following a brief period for non-agenda items.
