Commission removes Stenger House hearing after applicant withdraws application

The Clark County Historic Preservation Commission amended its Jan. 8 agenda to remove the continued public hearing on the Stenger House Certificate of Appropriateness after staff told the commission the applicant had withdrawn the application.
Chair Julie Bond announced that the continued public hearing for the Stenger House Certificate of Appropriateness "was scheduled to occur at this meeting. However, the applicant informed the City of Vancouver staff that they have chosen to withdraw the application." Commissioner Greg asked whether the applicant gave a reason. Jason (City staff) said he recalled an email indicating that "it was either Mark or Anthony ... recent loss of some board members that were associated with this project. So they just did not have the manpower to move it forward at this point in time."
The commission voted by voice to amend the agenda and remove the hearing; Chair Bond called for those in favor to say "aye," and the motion passed. No appeal or formal follow-up action was recorded and commissioners discussed the possibility the applicant might return at a later date once the board is reconstituted.
