Senator Hall sets appropriations week schedule; Oklahoma Tax Commission to brief revenue projections; diabetes caucus meets Thursday

Senator Hall announced that the Oklahoma Senate will observe an appropriations week with committee meetings Tuesday through Thursday to receive agency budget requests and a Thursday briefing from the Oklahoma Tax Commission on revenue projections.
Hall said full appropriations will meet Tuesday in Room 535 at 9:30 a.m. for presentations on education, general government, and the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES); Wednesday in Room 535 at 9:30 a.m. for Health and Human Services, Natural Resources, Public Safety, and the Judiciary; and Thursday in Room 535 at 10 a.m. for a presentation by the Oklahoma Tax Commission on how it derives revenue projections. "So it's a wonderful opportunity for every member of this body to join us in appropriations, and receive the agency requests and the presentation from OTC," Hall said.
Separately, Senator Hicks said the legislative diabetes caucus will convene Thursday at 2 p.m. to receive updates from work groups addressing prevention and education. "I would encourage and invite you all to join me at 2PM on Thursday," Hicks said.
Earlier in the opening session the clerk read first readings for a large batch of legislation, recorded on the floor as "Senate bills 1 through 665, Senate bills 667 through 1,125, and SJR's 1 through 17." Later, the floor leader moved that the Senate meet with the House in a joint session and, upon adjournment of the joint session and when the clerk's desk is clear, that the Senate stand adjourned until Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 1:30 p.m.; the Senate adopted that motion by voice vote.
The appropriations schedule gives members multiple opportunities to hear agency requests and review revenue assumptions ahead of budget work. The transcript does not include the Tax Commission27s presentation materials or a detailed agenda for each agency hearing; those items will be released by committee staff or the agencies.
