Commission reviews probate software replacement and proposed change to veterinary services contractor

The Limestone County Commission discussed two contract items at its Feb. 3 work session: a planned software agreement with Integrity for probate court document management and a proposed transition from the county’s current veterinary consultant, Dr. Tully, to a different veterinarian, Dr. Lee.
The chair introduced an agreement with Integrity to replace the current software that manages legal documents maintained by the probate judge; no further details were provided in the work session aside from staff notification that the agreement is on the agenda.
On the veterinary contract, Drew (county staff member) said the county’s current consulting veterinarian contacted staff and suggested releasing her from the contract so the county can contract instead with Dr. Lee, a veterinarian based near Moulton who has been performing much of the county’s spay-and-neuter work. Drew said Dr. Tully has no objection to the change and has suggested it; Dr. Lee has indicated he is willing to assume the contract on essentially the same terms. Drew also said one term under consideration is purchasing veterinary medicines through Dr. Lee at cost, which would lower the county’s supply expenses.
Drew said the contract change is pending his final review and that staff will finalize wording and any tweaks before presenting a finalized contract for commission action. No formal contract award or vote was recorded during the work session.
