Board grants 12‑month PACE extensions for three preservation projects

The board approved 12‑month PACE (preservation) extension requests for three properties: 302 West Street, 304 West Street and 612 Mulberry Street. Brenna Haley, the city’s preservationist, presented the requests on behalf of property owner Rebecca Brown and said the contractor, Brian Martin, has been completing work at Vintage Lanes and that Brown requested the additional time to ensure the projects are finished properly.
Haley described the West Street buildings as having extensive structural work under way and noted bracing on the west side of the building; she said the Mulberry property appears to be a residence and also requires significant rehabilitation. "They're huge projects, time consuming, and, I think it justifies the 12 month extension," Haley said. The board approved the extensions by voice vote.
Haley reminded the board that the PACE second‑round application deadline is today and that the next PACE meeting will be March 11.
