Board approves Sunset Cinema contract for 2025 Movies in the Park

The Board of Public Works and Safety approved a personal services agreement with Sunset Cinema to provide five movies for the 2025 Movies in the Park series.
Tanya, parks staff, introduced Brett Ricketts, who will serve as the city’s event coordinator and will handle contracts going forward. "He's been with us at the senior center for the last six months doing such a fantastic job," Tanya said when introducing Ricketts.
Parks staff said dates for five screenings are set and that they will run a survey to pick films; one screening will be held at the public pool. The parks department told the board the program is historically easy to fund through sponsorships and that this year’s series will be fully sponsored. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
Staff said film titles are not yet selected and that the department will circulate a survey before finalizing the lineup. Parks staff also flagged a Memorial Day car show partnership and said they expect to present the event safety plan for that event at a later meeting.
