Councilmember Monique Gettle moved to appoint architect Robert Clove to the planning and zoning commission; Councilmember Wade seconded and the motion carried. Councilmember Lehrman then reappointed Robert Brims (renomination) to the commission; that motion also carried. Councilmember Marsh moved to keep Ted Yoakum on P&Z, citing his years of service and prior board chair experience; the motion was seconded and approved. The council also reappointed James Singleton to continue serving on the commission.
Mayor Nancy Smith and other councilmembers publicly thanked outgoing commissioner Jim (full name given in the meeting) for more than 10 years of service to multiple city boards and commissions. Several councilmembers noted the nominees' professional experience: the newly appointed Robert Clove was described by Gettle as an architect with roughly 39 years of experience and prior planning-review roles in Chandler and Pinal County.
