Bristol Township district wins $248,000 E‑Rate cybersecurity pilot grant for three years

"I'm pleased to share that I applied for this grant, and out of all the districts across the country, we are one of 700 to receive funding for the next 3 years," Mr. Pfau told the board. He said the pilot will fund firewall licenses, logging, auditing and endpoint protection and provide “nearly a quarter of a $1,000,000 to spend over these 3 years.” He confirmed the award amount as $248,000.
The grant will cover anti‑virus and malware detection on desktops and servers, full firewall licensing and tools to improve near real‑time network monitoring. District staff said the work can reduce cybersecurity liability exposure and shift costs away from the district operating budget.
Board members and the superintendent acknowledged the award and thanked technology staff for securing the funds. The district did not present specific vendor names or an implementation schedule at the meeting.
