At the Jan. 27 meeting the commission appointed Trenton Chapman as a regular member of the Environmental Sustainability Board for a term expiring Feb. 1, 2026. Chapman introduced himself at the podium, said he owns Ground Control Coffee Roasters in Farmington and has a bachelor’s degree in sustainability. He described past sustainability work for Starbucks and said he wants to help implement the Birmingham Healthy Climate Plan.
A commissioner moved and another seconded the nomination; the commission voted in favor and City Clerk Bingham administered the oath of office.
