The Tredyffrin‑Easttown facilities committee reported on Jan. 14 that multiple capital projects are on schedule for summer 2025 work, and the committee summarized a set of change orders and systems upgrades.
Doctor Robert Singh, facilities committee chair, said HVAC and interior/exterior renovation projects are scheduled to begin at the end of the school year (June 19) and finish by Aug. 21, 2025, for four elementary schools, the middle school and Conestoga High School. The committee reviewed a roofing change order at Conestoga High School for raised curbs to accommodate added insulation; the change-order cost was approximately $42,000, with an anticipated labor/time credit to be applied later.
Committee members reviewed the final distribution‑frame/network upgrades for the district's computer network — work that follows two prior years of cabling and equipment upgrades — and approved a project management/fee letter in the amount of $23,000 for the remaining design/coordination work.
The athletic fields project is progressing: PECO poles relocation has started, utility coordination is underway, and the committee is including track resurfacing in the athletic fields contract for efficiency; damaged asphalt will be repaired by the same contractor. The committee also reported on the new elementary school conversion project, noting substantial demolition and several change orders related to concealed elements discovered during demolition (ceilings/soffits and concealed water heaters/piping). Those change orders represented approximately 1.5–1.7% of the contract value after an offset credit for controls installed by the district.
The facilities committee scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 11 and invited the public to review materials and photos from the committee meeting to follow project progress.
