The Facilities Committee on Jan. 29 approved a professional cost estimate and associated abatement plan for asbestos abatement at Fox Mill Elementary School and authorized staff to complete the required form (SCG-042) to proceed to the Land Use Committee and to the state's review process.
Bill (last name not specified) presented the package, which includes the project specifications and a multicolored plan showing which areas require abatement; some areas had been previously abated and are not part of this contract. The committee was asked to sign the form required as part of the state application process; staff said the Land Use Committee must also sign the same form and that the state will review the plan and cost estimate in a forthcoming meeting.
A motion to approve the professional cost estimate and move the package forward was made and seconded; no committee questions remained and the motion carried. Staff will obtain the required signatures and present the package to the Land Use Committee as the next step in the state review and bidding process.
