House Bill 1379, which would authorize the Office of the Insurance Commissioner to require health carriers to annually report primary care expenditures and direct the commissioner to consider definitions of primary care developed by the Health Care Authority, was reported out of the House Health Care & Wellness Committee on Jan. 31 with a due‑pass recommendation.
Committee members described the measure as a technical bill that will help collect data useful for policy and law. Representative Lekanoff urged a yes vote, and Representative Marshall said she supported the goals but expressed concern about potential scope creep in the future.
