Cookeville council approves consent agenda, routine purchases and minutes

The Cookeville City Council on Jan. 16 approved the consent agenda and a series of routine items by unanimous vote.
Items approved on the consent agenda included renewal of the city’s cybersecurity insurance policy; purchase of 10 mobile communications terminals and two communications center terminals under the BuyBoard cooperative contract; award of bids for 63 screw-in foundations and for 24 14-inch decorative poles (and a 14-foot item referenced); and award of bids for two 25-pad transformers. The council also approved the minutes from the Dec. 19, 2024 council meeting.
Separately under consent-type items, the council approved the purchase of a Chevrolet Equinox SUV on statewide contract to replace a totaled city vehicle at a cost of $31,434.20. Staff reported the insurance settlement from the totaled vehicle was $21,570.50 and that a budget amendment will be required in the future to cover the difference.
All motions on the consent agenda and the minutes passed unanimously with recorded votes of 5–0.
