The House of Representatives approved the journal of the 25th legislative day and, during its Jan. 31, 2025 session, received messages from the Senate and introduced or referred more than a dozen bills to standing committees.
The approvals and referrals set committee review for a range of subjects, including motor vehicle driver's licenses, militia and military affairs, open meetings law, building codes, veterinary practice rules and county fair board authority. Several bills were filed for third reading, and the House agreed by unanimous consent to hold at least one bill’s place on the third-reading calendar until Feb. 3.
The journal approval was moved by Representative Skog and seconded by Representative Gannon; the House voted by voice and the motion passed. The clerk reported 54 members present and 16 absent and excused at roll call.
House actions on introduced measures included: - House Bill 99 (Transportation and Defense Committee): an act relating to motor vehicle driver's licenses, amending section 49307, Idaho Code, to revise provisions regarding parent/student road drivers training and make technical corrections; declared an emergency and providing an effective date.
