Board approves transfer of Monk's Inn Bar & Grill liquor license

The St. Mary's County Alcohol Beverage Board approved the transfer of the Class D (beer, wine and liquor) license for Monk's Inn Bar & Grill to Timothy Ridgill and WMP Enterprises, Inc.

Ridgill testified he has been a St. Mary's County resident for 40 years and that managers and staff are in place; he said ten employees have received alcohol training and he planned to attend a scheduled training course. Ridgill said he has been a general supervisor at the business since March of the prior year and that he has no knowledge of liquor-license violations.

After board members questioned training and operations, a motion to approve the transfer was made, seconded and carried by voice vote.

Board staff and members encouraged continued staff training and interaction with enforcement and licensing staff to prevent future violations.
