Senate introduces bills on obstruction, timber leases, complex care homes and criminal-history checks; SCR1 filed to disapprove EO 136

The Senate secretary announced: Senate Bill 74 (by the Senate Rules Committee, by request of the governor), "an act relating to obstruction and providing for an effective date," referred to Transportation and Judiciary; Senate Bill 75 (by the Senate Rules Committee, by request of the governor), "an act relating to timber on state lands, relating to timber management leases, and providing for an effective date," referred to Resources and Finance; Senate Bill 76 (by the Senate Rules Committee, by request of the governor), "an act relating to complex care residential homes and providing for an effective date," referred to Health and Social Services and Finance; and Senate Bill 77 (by Senator Kiehl), "an act relating to national criminal history record checks for certain employees of the Department of Revenue, relating to allowable absences for eligibility for a permanent fund dividend, relating to confidentiality of certain information provided on a permanent fund dividend application, relating to duties of the Department of Revenue, and providing for an effective date," referred to Labor and Commerce and State Affairs.
Senate Special Concurrent Resolution 1, filed by the Senate Rules Committee and described on the floor as disapproving Executive Order 136, was referred to Resources and Finance. The secretary provided only the bill and referral summaries on the floor; no committee hearings or floor debate on the measures were held during this session.
Separately, a string of unanimous-consent requests on unfinished business placed senators on the cosponsor lists for a number of previously filed measures: a senator asked to be listed as a cosponsor of Senate Bill 1 (an act relating to appropriations to a legal services fund), SGR3 (regarding the 90-day session), Senate Bill 63 (fixing the Local Boundary Commission), and Senate Bill 11 (flood insurance). Each request was granted by unanimous consent on the floor.
