Separately, the district said eight CRCSD teachers will be honored at the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders educator appreciation night on Saturday, Feb. 1. The event is organized by Corridor Credit Union, the RoughRiders and the Teacher Store, and will include prizes to help teachers with classroom supplies.
Teachers named for recognition in the podcast were Christy Bryant (Erskine Elementary), Lauren Erickson (Grant Wood Elementary), Nicole Herman (Jefferson High School), Megan Lewis (Washington High School), Sarah Lowe (Kennedy), Brooke McWilliams (Nixon Elementary), Caitlin Schroeder (Hiawatha Elementary) and Lisonbee Vladd (Harding Middle School).
Ending: The district encouraged families to apply to the magnet lottery and invited the community to attend the educator appreciation event to recognize teachers honored from the district.
