The council voted to advertise the 2025 paving bid that includes approximately 1.2 miles of roadway, 4,088 ramps and 3,485 linear feet of curb. Planned streets for paving noted in the packet included Cardinal, Bluebird, Robin, Maple Street, parts of East Orange, North Lane and South Cedar Street.

Council also approved the Lititz Rec Center's 11th Annual Triathlon as a special event, set for Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The triathlon route includes a 300-meter swim in the pool, a roughly 15.8-mile bike leg and a 5K run.

During the streets discussion, members noted concerns about past paving quality on South Spruce Street and said staff will consider contractor qualifications, not solely low bid, when evaluating proposals.

Ending: Council authorized advertisement for the paving contract and approved the special-event permit; staff to receive and evaluate bids when received.
