Lake County Special Districts lists 2024 infrastructure gains; Spring Valley resident questions standby fee billing

Special Districts Administrator Robin Borre told the Lake County Board of Supervisors that her office completed a string of water and wastewater projects in 2024, and outlined priorities for 2025, while a Spring Valley resident raised questions during public comment about changes to standby-fee billing.

Borre said the district began purchasing property in Clear Lake to improve wastewater service for the Highlands and Vallejo areas; cleaned about 75,718 feet of wastewater lines; awarded design and study contracts for Kelseyville and North Lakeport; and completed rate studies and rate implementations for North Lakeport, Kelseyville and Spring Valley. She also reported 0 spills in November and December despite heavy rainfall and said staff aim to reduce sanitary sewer overflows to zero. "We cleaned 75 over 75,000 feet of wastewater lines," Borre said. "I had 0 spills in November December despite the significant amount of rainfall we had, so I'd like to thank my staff."
