Town staff told the Town Council workshop that the agenda listed the wrong tank and that the item is actually authorization for the mayor to execute an agreement with GNL Tank Sandblasting & Coatings LLC to recoat the reuse water tank and apply two institutional logos.
A staff speaker said the agenda should be corrected from “Rock Springs Road water tank” to the reuse water tank and that GNL previously performed work on another town tank. The presenter said the tank currently is green and will be repainted white with two logos oriented to be visible from different approaches (one facing the golf course and another toward Old Nashville Highway and Sam Ridley). Staff noted a request from MTSU that one logo orientation face the university; staff said the detail was raised informally and will be addressed during the formal agenda process.
Councilmembers asked staff to correct the agenda language before the council meeting. No formal authorization occurred at the workshop; staff said the item will appear on the upcoming agenda for formal consideration.
