During the Jan. 31 meeting, the House Appropriations Committee approved a package of technical statutory edits and clarifications, including treasury'proposed technical edits to align statute with current GASB accounting practice, updates to transfer-versus-appropriate language, and an increase to a numeric threshold noted in section 74.
Members said these edits simply bring statutes into line with current practice and financial reporting standards. The transcript records discussion of sections 73 through 77, including an increase in a stated threshold (section 74) and additional small treasury cleanups. Committee members said they reviewed the language, confirmed it reflected current practice, and had no substantive objections.
The committee also discussed adding the technology modernization fund to the Cary Ford authority and removing an outdated reference to traumatic brain injury in another section; members agreed these were acceptable technical updates. A few items involving policy or substantial change were deferred for separate committee consideration.
