Beaverton launches public strategic‑plan dashboard; version 1 now live

Steve Langford, the district’s chief information officer, announced at the Jan. 28 retreat that the Beaverton School District has launched version 1 of its public strategic‑plan dashboard on the district website.

Why it matters: The dashboard gives families, staff and community members interactive access to the district’s strategic metrics and subgroup filters, improving transparency about progress toward district priorities.

Langford demonstrated the site’s location (About → Strategic Plan → Strategic Plan Measures) and described features now available: visualizations for strategic metrics with filter buttons at the top (gender, student groups, special education, English‑language learners and race/ethnicity); an English/Spanish toggle for the application; and PDFs of additional language translations. He said the team will add more interactive translations, restore a staff‑retention tab that was omitted from the initial launch, and update the dashboard with the state’s upcoming graduation‑rate data.

Langford thanked teaching and learning and HR staff for collaborating on the prototype and said the dashboard will be a living application that evolves as new data and features are added. Board members praised the launch and said they expect iterative improvements as users submit feedback.

Clarifying details from the meeting: the dashboard is live under the district website’s About → Strategic Plan Measures; English and Spanish are built into the application; other languages are available in PDF form for now; staff retention tab will be reintroduced soon; graduation rates will be added when state data are released.

Langford said the district will solicit feedback and update the dashboard continuously. “We have launched version 1. It is available, on the public website,” he said.
