The finance and legislation committee of the Struthers City Council considered a resolution authorizing the city auditor to request and receive an advanced distribution of real property tax collections from the Mahoning County Auditor for calendar year 2025 and declared the measure an emergency.
A council member moved to bring the resolution out of committee and a second was recorded; no formal roll-call vote on final passage of the resolution was recorded in the caucus transcript.
The committee chair announced there were five pieces of legislation before the council overall: four ordinances and one resolution. Committee members also referenced recent information received from KO Consultants; council discussion noted KO Consultants reported about $568,000 in receipts (as stated in the caucus), with a small number of outstanding items still pending verification.
There was no additional debate about the substance of the auditor’s resolution in the recorded caucus meeting. Committee business concluded and the finance and legislation meeting adjourned.
Procedural notes from the caucus included scheduling: the finance and legislation meeting for February 5 was announced to be held at 6 p.m. and a police & fire meeting was discussed for a civil service matter to be scheduled the following week.
