County engineer seeks $28,197.61 in state-aid accounting adjustment for Old 61 bridge project; Walnut Lake work advancing

The engineer said the requested amount breaks down into $23,501.36 previously spent on preliminary testing and drilling and $4,696.25 used for an earlier environmental assessment while the project was under the Office of State Aid's control. Board members approved a motion authorizing the use of the state-aid funds to close the project.
The engineer also provided updates on other projects: plans for Walnut Lake are in the second review phase, and an environmental assessment is underway (with Department of Archives, DEQ and U.S. Army Corps reviews in progress). The engineer reported ongoing coordination with utility companies and said right-of-way acquisition is progressing with a single landowner involved. The Dundee Road project is expected to start in February, weather permitting.
