Adams County Youth Court awarded MSPHI grant; board approves part-time peer-support hire

Mary King O'Ready, director of Youth Court, told the board the award would fund a part-time peer support navigator to work with drug court participants and to organize a public health and safety team to respond to overdoses. The board approved the hire of Brian Kenner at $20 per hour as a part-time, no-benefits position; the motion passed by roll call.
O'Ready also reported standing MSPHI reimbursements were current and that an earlier overpayment had been resolved. The board approved additional hour changes and fund numbers tied to the MSPHI grant and related programs; staff clarified fund codes during the meeting.
Supervisors moved and seconded the hire and budget adjustments; votes were recorded as adopted. The board also approved a new phone number request and other clerical adjustments related to the grant paperwork.
Ending: Youth Court officials said the new peer-support navigator will both assist clients and lead the FAST (public Health and Safety Team) overdose response work once hired, reporting back to the board through the county's payroll and HR process.
