For the new application by Alex Auto & Repair, councilors discussed past site problems and the need for compliance with permit rules before approving a license at that address.
Alexander “Alex” (identified in the meeting as the operator of the existing Express Fuel and Alex’s Auto Body on the site) told the committee he was willing to comply with permit requirements. Councilors noted prior problems at the site and agreed to a phased approach: the council adopted a condition that the new license allow no more than 10 vehicles on the lot initially.
The committee moved that the renewals be approved provided all paperwork is in order by the next full City Council meeting; that motion carried. Separately, the motion to approve Alex Auto’s new second-class motor vehicle sales license with the restriction of 10 vehicles passed.
The committee closed the item and adjourned the session.
