The committee recommended passage of Senate Bill 344 with technical amendments after receiving support from the Honolulu Police Department and the Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition.
Major Stacen Tanaka of the Honolulu Police Department said the department stands on its written testimony in support and was available for questions. The Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition also testified in support. Committee members said they expect further discussion in Judiciary and recorded a pass-with-amendments recommendation for technical changes.
No roll-call objections were recorded at decision making and the measure will move forward with the committee's technical edits.
