The Montgomery ISD Education Foundation announced a $100,000 gift to Montgomery ISD during the Jan. 24 regular board meeting and posed with trustees for a ceremonial check.
The gift, presented during School Board Appreciation Month, was described by a district presenter as an “extraordinary $100,000” given back to the district for programming and classroom needs. Tiffany Ortiz was singled out by district staff for leading the foundation’s fundraising and volunteer efforts. The foundation also promoted a spring benefit, the “spring soiree,” scheduled for March 22, with tickets available at the foundation website (MontgomeryISDEdef.org as stated during the meeting).
District staff thanked foundation volunteers and students for their support. Board members received floral arrangements made by Lake Creek High School floral design students and cards brought by Montgomery High School’s student council.
District and foundation representatives encouraged attendance at upcoming foundation events, saying the fundraising proceeds enable grants and classroom projects that “bridge the gap” for teachers and students. No formal district action was required or taken during the recognition and presentation portion of the meeting.
