Counseling office announces FAFSA partnership, scheduling weeks and senior deadlines

Princeton High School counselors announced a new partnership with the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative (CYC) to provide family support for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and highlighted upcoming scheduling and senior deadlines.
"They were able to receive a grant which will allow them to help support us, and more importantly our students and their families in completing FAFSA," said Chrissy Grable, counselor at Princeton High. Grable said the partnership will include meetings for students and an evening program for parents; the district’s school board recently approved the partnership.
Counseling staff outlined the school’s scheduling timeline: the week of Feb. 17 will focus on juniors; Feb. 24 for sophomores; March 3 for freshmen; and an 8th-grade visit to the high school is planned for Feb. 1. Grable said scheduling time will include conversations about students’ postsecondary plans and progress toward graduation.
Principal John Wilhelm provided dates relevant to seniors: scholarship application pickup will be Feb. 12 and applications are due March 5. Wilhelm also listed senior events: a senior skate on April 6; prom on May 3 (Prom Walk in Matthews Auditorium 7–8 p.m.; dance at the Delta Hotel 8–11 p.m.; after-prom at Dave and Buster’s); and commencement on May 18 at Fifth Third Arena at the University of Cincinnati.
