The Town of Danvers Planning Board on Jan. 28 voted to continue a request for a partial release of a covenant tied to a 1972 definitive subdivision plan for Trask Lane to its next scheduled meeting on Feb. 25.
Chair Lewis George opened the meeting and read the agenda item as a request for a partial release of the covenant established Aug. 28, 1972, that is associated with the definitive subdivision plan titled “Proposed Access to Fawley Hill Development, Danvers, Massachusetts” dated June 2, 1972. Principal planner Josh Bars told the board staff had received a letter from the development team requesting a continuance while a third‑party traffic peer review is completed.
Board member Jim Sears moved to continue the application to Tuesday, Feb. 25; the motion was seconded by Member Tim Spiddle. The board conducted a roll‑call vote (required because some members participated remotely) and recorded five affirmative votes from Jean Hartnett, Jim Sears, Tim Spiddle, Mike Dukulis and Chair Lewis George; the motion passed.
During public comment, resident Bill Bradstreet asked whether the town was aware of other expired or altered covenants. Josh Bars said this is not a common situation during his five years at the planning office and that staff could research Bradstreet’s question and discuss it at the Feb. 25 continuation. Bars noted the board could not go into particulars while the matter was continued.
No formal action was taken on the substance of the covenant request; the continuance sets the matter for further review when the peer review memo is available.
